Die Einteilung in Hepa-Klassen („High Efficiency Particulate Air“) gibt einen Überblick, wie klein die gefilterten Teilchen in der Luft sein können. Die Faustregel lautet: Je höher die Zahl, desto höher der Wirkungsgrad des jeweiligen Filtermediums. Die Desinfektion der Luft erfolgt mittels UV-C-Strahlung – ein Verfahren, mit dem sowohl Bakterien als auch Viren abgetötet werden.
Die Fläche entscheidet
Ein entscheidendes Kriterium beim Kauf eines mobilen Luftreinigers ist die Raumfläche, die es zu bewältigen hat. Denn ist ein Raum zu groß, hilft das teuerste Gerät nichts. Für eine wirksame Luftreinigung müssten in diesem Fall mehrere Geräte angeschafft werden. Aber auch der Standort im Raum ist ausschlaggebend für eine wirkungsvolle Arbeit des Filters. Nicht zu verwechseln mit der Raumfläche, ist die maximale Reinigungsleistung (angegeben in m³/h). Diese Kennzahl gibt an, wieviel Luft innerhalb einer Stunde gereinigt werden kann. Wichtig ist: Mobile Luftreiniger führen keine Frischluft zu und können damit das unbedingt erforderliche, regelmäßige Lüften von geschlossenen Räumen in Pandemie-Zeiten nicht ersetzen.
Auf Geräuschpegel achten
Gerade für Räume, in denen die Anforderung an die Konzentration der Mitarbeitenden oder auch SchülerInnen besonders hoch ist, spielt der Geräuschpegel der Luftreiniger eine entscheidende Rolle. Und hier sind die Unterschiede enorm. Dementsprechend lohnt sich ein Vergleich auf jeden Fall. Ist auf Basis dieser Kriterien eine fundierte Kaufentscheidung getroffen, können noch technische Features wie eine automatische Abschaltung, ein gut lesbares Display mit Informationen über notwendige Filterwechsel, eine Farbanzeige für die Luftqualität oder einstellbare automatische Modi mit in Betracht gezogen werden.
CO2-Geräte warnen vor dicker Luft
CO2-Messgeräte liefern Informationen über die Luftqualität. Gemessen werden in der Regel der CO2-Gehalt sowie Luftfeuchtigkeit und Temperatur. Wird ein bestimmter Grenzwert überschritten, zeigen die Geräte mit einem optischen und/oder akustischen Warnsignal an, ob gelüftet werden muss, um die Aerosolbelastung im Raum zu reduzieren. Ob Kohlendioxid-Tisch-Messgerät, ein Modell mit Datenloggerfunktion oder internetfähiger Luftqualitäts-Monitor: Es gibt einen Vorteil, der alle Geräte vereint.
